Issue on holding congress of Regions Party undecided yet, says Azarov
The Regions Party has not decided yet whether it will hold a congress before the parliamentary elections, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, who chairs the party, has said.
"We have not made a decision yet. We have a right to hold such a congress, but we might decide not to hold it," the premier said during a hotline conference with the readers of the Komsomolskaya Pravda v Ukraine newspaper in Kyiv on Monday.
Azarov said he was satisfied with the quality of work of the Regions Party representatives in majority constituencies.
"All [of the party's] candidates in majority constituencies work effectively – they're not throwing mud at anyone and they are conducting the election campaign properly. We are keeping an eye on this issue. They were warned, and they're behaving in a dignified manner," Azarov said.
The parliamentary elections in Ukraine will be held on October 28, 2012.
