Assets of members of criminal group led by SPF ex-head Sennychenko seized in Austria
Austrian law enforcers seized luxury cars owned by members of a criminal group led by the former head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF), Dmytro Sennychenko, at the request of the Ukrainian side.
"The joint investigative team successfully seizes the assets of the members of the criminal organization headed by the former chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine," the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) said on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.
Anti-corruption authorities continue to actively work on the identification and return of property and funds obtained by criminal means.
"Thanks to the coordinated operations of the joint investigative team, which includes representatives of Ukraine, Austria and France, results in the search and seizure of assets were achieved," SAPO said.
At the request of the head of the joint investigative team from Ukraine – a SAPO prosecutor – Austrian law enforcement authorities implemented a ruling of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court to arrest and seize luxury cars, which the members of the criminal group used abroad.
SAPO recalled that earlier, within the framework of the activities of the same joint investigative group, the French side seized the real estate of the suspects for a total amount of EUR 6.5 million.
"Currently, measures are being taken within the framework of international cooperation to identify other property, as well as search and extradition of suspects," SAPO said.
As reported, on March 22, 2023, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), under the procedural guidance of SAPO, exposed a criminal organization led by the former SPF head which in 2019-2021 took possession of more than UAH 500 million of JSC Odessa Portside Plant and JSC United Mining and Chemical Company.
According to NABU, the amount of unlawful benefit received by members of the criminal organization for all the time of control of the companies is more than UAH 2 billion.
SAPO did not specify the name of the former head of the SPF. It is about Dmytro Sennychenko.
