Arakhamia, Kim bail MP Kormyshkina suspected of illegal enrichment
A measure of restraint in the form of personal surety has been applied to a Ukrainian Member of Parliament, who is suspected of illegal enrichment, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) said.
"On October 23, 2024, the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) applied to the Ukrainian MP, who is suspected of illegal enrichment, a measure of restraint in the form of personal surety," it said on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.
The name of the defendant is not mentioned in the statement. According to Interfax-Ukraine's sources, it is about Iryna Kormyshkina, who previously had the name of Allahverdiyeva (Servant of the People faction).
The court determined two people as guarantors: Head of the Servant of the People faction of the Verkhovna Rada David Arakhamia and Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim.
As reported, on October 16, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) reported suspicion of illegal enrichment to an incumbent MP.
"According to the investigation, in 2021-2022, she acquired assets in the amount of more than UAH 20 million. They were subsequently used to purchase a house in Odesa region, where the MP now resides. At the same time, her official income for this period and savings amounted to no more than UAH 2.7 million, which the suspect used for other purposes," NABU said.
Thus, the MP illegally enriched herself for more than UAH 20 million.
