Ukraine harvests 57.6 mln tonnes of grains, 17.3 mln tonnes of oilseeds in 2025

Ukraine, despite a full-scale war and challenging weather conditions, has completed the 2025 harvest, with farmers harvesting 57.6 million tonnes of grain and 17.3 million tonnes of oilseeds, the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture’s press service reported.

The Ministry added that, after the corn harvest is complete, total grain production is expected to reach approximately 60 million tonnes.

The Ministry of Economy noted the importance of these results in the context of Ukraine’s European integration efforts.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Ukraine ranks second among European Union countries in terms of grain production. The country is the undisputed leader in corn production, harvesting 23.5 million tonnes in 2025, compared to the EU’s total production of 57 million tonnes. Ukraine also holds the lead in sunflower production, with 9 million tonnes, compared to 8.5 million tonnes for all EU countries combined.

"Ukraine is already a key grain producer in Europe and globally. Ukraine’s integration into the European Union means the creation of a powerful agricultural producer with high growth potential, which increases the EU’s resilience to global food security challenges," noted Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Taras Vysotsky.
