Von der Leyen declares unity of European leaders in defending sovereignty of Greenland, Denmark

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced talks with the NATO Secretary General, as well as the leaders of France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, on security and sovereignty issues in Europe.

"I spoke with @SecGenNATO (Mark Rutte IF-U), @EmmanuelMacron (Emmanuel Macron IF-U), @Keir_Starmer (Keir Starmer IF-U), @bundeskanzler (Friedrich Merz IF-U) and @GiorgiaMeloni (Giorgia Meloni -IF-U). Together we stand firmly in defense of the sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark," von der Leyen said in a post on the social network X.

According to her, European partners are determined to protect strategic economic and security interests.

"We will always defend our strategic economic and security interests. We will confront these challenges to our European solidarity with resilience and determination," the President of the European Commission said.
