URCS supports people without light and heat

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is providing assistance to people who are currently without electricity and heat due to the massive attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

"URCS has joined the large-scale response together with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and partners. The organization supports the work of heat points deployed by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, providing them with generators, heat guns, lighting, furniture and necessary consumables, as well as involving volunteers and employees in the response," URCS said on Facebook.

To ensure that aid reaches everyone who needs it, the URC coordinates interaction with other humanitarian organizations, including the Salvation Army, Donbas SOS, World Central Kitchen, and Dobrobat.

The URCS also provides food to field kitchens. In addition, over 2,000 people in the capital and Kyiv region have already received hot drinks and meals.

To support the work of medical and critical institutions, the Ukrainian Red Cross is transferring 524 generators of various capacities, of which 100 are intended for Kyiv and Kyiv region.

Special attention is paid to supporting the most vulnerable categories of the population. Within the framework of the "Home Care" program, social assistants of the Ukrainian Red Cross additionally visit and provide assistance to almost 8,000 single and conditionally single people, for whom the current situation is especially difficult.

URCS' partners in the International Red Cross Movement, the European Union and the U.S. Department of State stand in solidarity with Ukraine and are involved in supporting and providing hot meals.
