URCS Rapid Response Unit working at site of Russian missile hit in Kharkiv
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) Rapid Response Unit is working at a location affected by the Russian missile attack on Kharkiv.
“Today, Russian troops launched a missile strike on the centre of Kharkiv. The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in Kharkiv region was promptly deployed to the site of the strike. The volunteers searched the surrounding areas and apartments in the damaged building to identify victims. They provided first aid to three injured individuals and transferred them to medical personnel,” URCS said on Facebook Monday.
Volunteers from both the emergency response team and the psychosocial support team are currently working at the scene. The needs of the population are being assessed, and humanitarian aid is being prepared to provide the victims with essential supplies.
As reported, as a result of a missile strike carried out by the Russian occupiers in the center of Kharkiv on Monday morning, 23 people were injured by explosions, 16 victims were taken to hospital. A hit to the ground was recorded. There was a fire on an area of about 80 square meters. Three cars and facades of non-residential buildings were damaged by fire.
A pretrial investigation has been launched under Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
