Despite flight permits for Supernova Airlines, Ukrainian airspace remains closed – Deputy minister
Supernova Airlines, part of the NOVA group (Nova Poshta), has completed its setup as an airline after receiving a permit from the State Aviation Service of Ukraine to operate international flights. However, Ukraine's airspace remains closed, according to Tymur Tkachenko, Deputy Minister of Community, Territories and Infrastructure Development.
"News has been circulating that Supernova Airlines has received a license to operate regular international flights on the Lviv-Prague and Kyiv-Prague routes. Some media outlets have interpreted this news to suggest a 'partial opening of the skies.' But this is not true… the company has received an operator certificate and a license for cargo transportation, completing its formation as an airline," Tkachenko wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.
The Deputy Minister said that the documents issued by the State Aviation Service do not grant actual flight permissions, stating that they only provide commercial rights to operate on these routes.
"Unfortunately, the security situation still does not allow for civilian aviation flights. Ukraine's airspace remains closed," Tkachenko added.
