Latvian charity organization Ziedot.lv sends batch of generators to AFU – embassy
The Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia has handed over another batch of power generators to the Ukrainian defense forces.
"The Ukrainian defense forces, in particular the special unit of the operational command, as well as the Liut Joint Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine received containerized diesel generators with a capacity of 300 and 100 kW, which were prepared and sent from Riga on September 23 this year by the charitable foundation Ziedot.lv under the coordination of the Embassy of Ukraine," the diplomatic mission said on Facebook on Wednesday.
"In the conditions of constant Russian attacks, including on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, the transfer of electrical equipment from our partners is extremely important," it said.
The Ukrainian military thanked Latvia and the entire Latvian people for this extremely important humanitarian aid, which will contribute to the effective fulfillment of combat tasks at the front.
According to the statement, the funding for this assistance package was raised thanks to a charity initiative carried out by Latvia's public media – Latvijas Televīzija (LTV.lv), Latvijas Radio and the LSM portal.on – on the platform of the Ziedot Foundation on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day.
