NATO has no information that the crash of the Russian drone in Latvia, a member of the alliance, was intentional, but states that these actions are irresponsible and dangerous.

NATO spokesperson Farah Dakhlallah said in a commentary to Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

"Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Russian drone fragments and missiles have been found on Allied territory on several occasions. While we have no information indicating an intentional attack by Russia against Allies, these acts are irresponsible and potentially dangerous," she said.

Dakhlallah recalled that in response to Russia's war, the alliance has significantly increased its presence on the eastern flank, including in Romania and Latvia.

As reported, on Saturday, September 7, the Latvian Defense Ministry reported the crash of a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle, in connection with which an investigation was launched. Preliminary data indicate that it was a Russian military unmanned aerial vehicle that entered Latvian airspace from Belarus. NATO command has been informed of this.
