Epicenter opens shopping mall in Chabany near Kyiv

On Saturday, Epicenter K LLC opened the first phase of a shopping mall in Chabany, near Kyiv (8 Odeska Highway), according to the company's press service.

The new shopping center is located on the site of a former Nova Linia hypermarket. Following extensive reconstruction, the retail space has been expanded 2.5 times. The two-story shopping center now covers more than 96,000 square meters.

Victoria Zelenska, Director of Exclusive Concepts and Development at Epicenter K, noted that the tenant mix of the Epicenter shopping center in Chabany, combined with a family entertainment park and retail stores, will meet all daily needs of residents living along the Odeska Highway. The mall features spacious shopping galleries, modern facades, and large atriums that allow natural light to enter the building, offering a clear view of the stores on the second floor. The large underground parking area, with 847 parking spaces, also serves as a shelter for visitors during air raid warnings.

The first phase includes all the retail formats of the Epicenter chain. The ground floor houses a large Food Market and a Garden Center with its own lake and artificial waterfall in an open-air setting. In the warmer months, the outdoor area will be equipped with seating for Food Market restaurants, a promenade, and a LED screen for events and broadcasts.

Additionally, the ground floor features an Intersport store, a pharmacy, a bank branch, a multiservice center, a home goods section, a Mon Cheri perfume and cosmetics boutique, the Lapki pet store, an Automall, and various departments offering a wide range of building, repair, and home finishing products. The second floor includes the E.Pic children's store, the Deco Gallery, the Furniture Center, the Light Studio, the CETE electronics store, the All4Rest outdoor goods store, the Ceramic Center, and more.

Later, the company plans to open a large family entertainment park, EPILAND, spanning more than 5,000 square meters, aimed at children under 12. Next to the park, there will be a food court and shopping gallery with a variety of stores. The mall is also set to welcome a 1,100-square-meter store of the Polish fashion brand Sinsay, along with other national and international retailers.

The new shopping center is equipped with a powerful diesel generator, ensuring continued operation during power outages, and solar panels on the roof provide partial energy independence. The shopping complex employs around 450 people, and annual tax contributions to various budgets are expected to reach tens of millions of hryvnias.

As reported, in addition to the shopping mall in Chabany, Epicenter K is working on the launch of two other large shopping and entertainment centers. One in Bucha (Kyiv region) is set to open in 2025, covering 97,000 square meters, and another in Lviv, planned for 2027, will have a total floor area of about 280,000 square meters.

The Epicenter group is an omnichannel ecosystem that includes the Epicenter and Nova Linia retail chains, the epicentrk.ua online store, the Epicenter-Agro agricultural holding, Epicenter Ceramic Corporation tile manufacturing plants, and the CBM Osmoloda woodworking enterprise, along with logistics capabilities.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Sole Entrepreneurs, the participants of Epicenter K LLC are Oleksandr Hereha (51.3%), Halyna Hereha (47.97%), and Tetiana Surzhyk (0.73%).
