Zelenskyy visits SOF forward command post in Vovchansk area

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited on Monday the forward command post of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Vovchansk area, where he talked to the military and presented them with state awards.
"Kharkiv direction. Forward command post of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Vovchansk area. It is an honor to be here today and greet our Special Operations Forces soldiers on their professional day, and to present them with state awards," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
The head of state thanked the soldiers for their bravery, heroic operations both behind enemy lines and during the deoccupation of Ukrainian cities and villages.
According to the presidential press service, Zelenskyy also gave the 142nd Training Center of the Special Operations Forces the honorary name of Khorunzhii-General Vsevolod Zmiienko.
The president along with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky received a report from the Commander of the Special Operations Forces Oleksandr Trepak on the strategy of development of the SOF, as well as on the performed and planned tasks. In particular, Trepak spoke about the three principal areas of the Special Operation Forces' activities: psychological operations and non-kinetic actions, resistance movement in the temporarily occupied territories and actions of the Special Forces units.
They also discussed further reform and development of SOF capabilities to meet current challenges, using the best international and domestic experience gained since 2014.
