Kuleba satisfied with results of talks in Malawi, Zambia
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has said he was satisfied with the talks in Malawi and Zambia and highlighted the importance of the need to communicate with African partners so that Russian narratives do not poison the position of African colleagues on Russia's war against Ukraine.
"Wrapping up the visit to Zambia. The second country of the fourth African tour. Yesterday was Malawi, today – Zambia, tomorrow – Mauritius. I am convinced once again how important it is to talk to African partners to ensure that Russian narratives, Russian lies do not poison the position of our African colleagues on the war that Russia has unleashed against our country," he said in a video message published on Instagram Wednesday.
The minister emphasized that it is important to work with African countries to ensure that a large number of them vote in favor of Ukrainian resolutions and back the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
"In order not to have some other plans imposed on us, but to ensure that they support our plan. And in this respect, I am very satisfied with the results of the negotiations I have already had," Kuleba said.
In addition, he said Ukraine has interests everywhere, and "we must constantly look for new opportunities to end the war, to rebuild Ukraine, to promote Ukrainian business."
"And Africa, for which literally all the biggest players in the world are fighting, is a place where Ukraine has opportunities, and we must strive for them," the minister said.
As reported, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba is on a tour to Malawi, Zambia and Mauritius on August 4-8 to hold a range of bilateral meetings.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said the goal of the minister's fourth African tour is to continue developing relations with African countries. All three countries – Malawi, Zambia and Mauritius – will be visited by the minister for the first time in history.
