Poland, France, Germany and Italy agree to jointly develop cruise missile with range of more than 500 km
Poland, France, Germany and Italy have reached an agreement on the joint development of a cruise missile with a range of more than 500 km, the PAP news agency reported on Thursday, citing information from the Polish Ministry of National Defense.
"On the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington, Poland, France, Germany and Italy signed a letter of intent to jointly develop a cruise missile with a range of more than 500 km," the message says.
The Polish Ministry of Defense stated that the goal is "to establish cooperation in the development of key deep impact capabilities, and in the future, joint projects to develop specific solutions to eliminate gaps, reduce costs and shorten work deadlines."
At the same time, Reuters notes that France, Germany, Italy and Poland have taken the initiative to develop land-based cruise missiles with a range of over 500 kilometers to fill a gap in European arsenals, which, according to them, was discovered as a result of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
