Switzerland imposes sanctions on 155 Russian individuals, companies related to defense sector, trade - press release
Switzerland has added 69 individuals and 86 entities, including businessmen, judges, servicemen and companies related to the defense sector and trade, to the Russian sanctions list, the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs said.
"The new sanctions mainly target businesspersons, propagandists, members of the armed forces and judiciary, persons responsible for the deportation of Ukrainian children and members of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Confederation (FSB)," the department said.
The sanctions also apply to companies related to the Russian defense, financial and trade sectors, it said.
In addition, Switzerland is imposing restrictions on the activity of the four media outlets Voice of Europe, RIA Novosti, Izvestia and Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The sanctions take effect at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the department said.
According to the press release, 2,200 individuals and companies have been put on the Swiss lists of anti-Russian sanctions to date.
