The Polish government will establish a council for cooperation with Ukraine, which will include representatives from science, business, authorities, and local self-government, as announced by the future head of this council, Paweł Kowal, who is also Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm.

"The Prime Minister has already signed the order, and the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine will be created. The Prime Minister has appointed me as its head. It will be a public body that will include representatives from science, business, authorities, and local self-government. Its composition will be finalized in the coming weeks," Kowal told the Polish publication pap.pl.

According to him, the council will have its own office and working groups, which will be formed soon. Additionally, a list of their responsibilities will be defined. The structure will also have its secretariat, which will be managed by the Polish Prime Minister's office.

The institution will work on matters related to Poland's involvement in Ukraine's recovery. It will collaborate with Polish analytical centers, including the Polish Economic Institute and the Center for Eastern Studies.

Kowal emphasized that the council will take a comprehensive approach to Polish-Ukrainian relations. "We believe that they are exceptional not only due to historical issues but also because of Poland’s involvement in assisting Ukraine's defense and Poland's role in its recovery process," he added.

According to the publication, a branch of the council was opened in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship on Saturday, focusing on cross-border cooperation with Ukraine.
