KhNPP-2 disconnected from power network due to deviations in operation of turbine unit – Energoatom
The second unit of the Khmelnytsky NPP was disconnected from the power network to determine and eliminate the causes of deviations in the operation of the turbine unit, NNEGC Energoatom reported on its Telegram channel on Thursday morning.
As the company explained, on March 13 at 17:48, a fluctuation in the axial shift parameter of the rotor of the high-pressure cylinder of the turbine unit (HPC) was recorded with a tendency to increase, and therefore "in conditions of surplus in the electricity market, it was decided to turn off the turbine unit to clarify and eliminate reasons for deviation."
According to Energoatom, seven nuclear power units are currently in operation, all are operating at nominal power. The total capacity of the nuclear power plant is 5900 MW.
As reported, on March 8, Energotom began a repair campaign and brought one of the nuclear power plant units out for repairs. Before this, it operated all available nine nuclear power plant units.
