Czech PM: We manage to raise money to purchase first batch of 300,000 artillery shells for Ukraine

The Czech Republic and its partners managed to raise enough money to purchase the first batch of 300,000 artillery shells for Ukraine, "however, the goal is much more," Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said.

“Many thanks to all the countries that have joined the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine so far. We have managed to raise enough money to buy the first batch of 300,000 artillery shells. However, our goal is to deliver much more! Our work and our help to Ukraine do not end here,” Fiala said on X Friday.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Czech Republic continues to look for partners to continue to support Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor.

At the Munich Security Conference in February, Czech President Petr Pavel assured that Prague has data on the possibility of supplying Kyiv with 500,000 of 155 mm and 300,000 of 122 mm shells, and within a few weeks if the necessary funding is received.

Bloomberg later reported that Canada, Denmark, Lithuania and Latvia had previously agreed to participate in the initiative; France and Poland also wanted to join it.
