Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy head of the President’s Office of Ukraine, has begun negotiations with the Norwegian delegation on concluding a bilateral security agreement, the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state reports.

“Upon the instruction of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and in pursuance of the G7 Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva has started negotiations with Norway on the conclusion of a bilateral security agreement,” a message published on the President's website on Monday reads.

It is noted that the Norwegian delegation was headed by Special Representative for Ukraine of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway Christian Syse.

The parties discussed the main structural elements and blocks of the future agreement and agreed on a schedule for further work.

"Norway is our key partner in Northern Europe, one of the leaders of the coalition of fighter jets that has been supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. It is important that today we have started the process of formalizing the security commitments of our countries," said Zhovkva.
