Rada to consider bill on mobilization at second reading after Feb 21 – Stefanchuk

The Ukrainian Parliament will be able to consider the bill on mobilization at second reading and as a whole after February 21, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

"This will not be earlier than the 21st [of February], because this is the last day when amendments to this bill may be submitted," Stefanchuk said on a national telethon on Wednesday.

He said the Verkhovna Rada has 14 days between the first and second reading to amend the bill.

Stefanchuk said that he and MPs – PhDs of sciences and professors – are preparing an amendment to defer mobilization for graduate students.

"This will be a professorial amendment that we will insist on... We want to protect those graduate students who really want to advance Ukrainian science," Stefanchuk said.
