Anatoliy Barhylevych appointed Chief of General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Anatoliy Barhylevych as the new chief of the General Staff.
"At the suggestion of Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky, I appointed Major General Anatoliy Barhylevych as the new chief of the General Staff. An experienced person, he understands the tasks of this war and the goals," he said in a video message on Friday.
On October 9, 2023, President of Ukraine Zelenskyy appointed Barhylevych the commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Before this, Barhylevych was the commander of the territorial defense of the Ground Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
