New meeting in Ramstein format to be held online on Nov 22

An online meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group is to be held on November 22, where further military support for Ukraine will be discussed, the Norwegian Ministry of Defense said on Thursday.

"This will be the 17th meeting in a row. The US Secretary of Defense invited the defense ministers and heads of defense departments of about 50 countries to a meeting to discuss further military support for Ukraine in the short and long term," the message reads.

Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram will also take part in the meeting. "The Defense Minister will attend the meeting in an online format from Stockholm, where he will be at the meeting of defense ministers of the Nordic countries," the ministry said.

As reported, the 16th meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of Defense Ministers was held at the NATO headquarters in Brussels on October 11.

At the last meeting, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that all allies agree that Ukraine will become a member of NATO and called for increasing efforts to provide Kyiv with military assistance. U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III said that the United States will give Ukraine a new security assistance package worth $200 million, which, in particular, will include air defense missiles and artillery ammunition.
