British Red Cross representatives got acquainted with the work of their colleagues from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) in the Kyiv region.

"In Buchansk and Irpinsk local organizations [of URCS], based on which humanitarian aid is provided to the population, international partners got acquainted with the specifics of the daily work of employees, and also talked with volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, who are internally displaced persons and today support in need of help," the URCS said on its official Facebook page.

According to Executive Director International of the British Red Cross Richard Blewitt, the main goal of their visit was to learn about the problems and challenges faced by Ukrainians and better understand what kind of help is needed.

"And although the needs are growing every day, to be honest, I am amazed at the work of colleagues from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society: the volume of distribution of humanitarian aid, the pace of restoration of shelters for the population…. Today, I saw much motivated, very young volunteers who are internally displaced, and at the same time, they help others overcome difficulties," Blewitt said.
