President of Motor Sich blocks supply of combat helicopter for Defense Intelligence Agency in April 2022 - SBU

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has established that Viacheslav Bohuslayev, President of the Motor Sich Corporation (Zaporizhia), blocked the delivery of a combat helicopter for the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense in April 2022, he was also notified of suspicion on this fact, the SBU reports.

"Counterintelligence and investigators of the Security Service have exposed new facts of the criminal activities of the president of JSC Motor Sich, suspected of working for the aggressor. In the course of investigative actions, the involvement of the high-ranking official in obstructing the legitimate activities of the Defense Forces in favor of the aggressor country was established," the SBU reported on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.

According to it, in April last year, Bohuslayev received an order from representatives of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense on the transfer of a Mi-2 helicopter to carry out combat missions at the front. However, as emphasized, "the head of the industrial giant deliberately blocked the implementation of the relevant state order."

"To do this, he instructed his subordinates to disassemble the aircraft into parts and hide its operational documentation. Fulfilling the order of the high-ranking official, the plant workers removed the blades and disabled the helicopter's mechanisms responsible for the operation of the main rotor," the special service clarifies.

On this fact, the president of Motor Sich was additionally notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, and Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstruction to the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement).

The pretrial investigation continues to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

In October 2022, SBU officers detained the president of the Motor Sich Corporation, Viacheslav Bohuslayev, and the head of the Foreign Economic Activity Department of JSC Motor Sich. The suspects were declared suspected under Article 111-1 (collaboration activity) and Article 111-2 (complicity with the aggressor state) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
