Holding ‘pseudo-referendum’ on ‘DPR/LPR’ joining Russia to do nothing but complicate negotiations – Zelensky

The possible holding of a referendum on the annexation of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" to Russia will not give anything but additional complications in the negotiations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
Earlier, information about the possible holding of such a "referendum" appeared on several Telegram channels.
"There can be many such pseudo-referendums. Ukraine will not recognize them anyway. The main thing is that together with Ukraine, the whole civilized world will not recognize them. This will do nothing but make any negotiations more difficult," the president said when asked by the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
"If we want to complicate all this for the whole Europe and the world, we can continue to play these referendums, which will not give any result - neither current nor historical," Zelensky stressed.
