Reznikov: Ukraine's intelligence agencies identifying Russian invaders responsible for atrocities

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has said Ukrainian intelligence agencies are consistently identifying the invaders and murderers of Ukrainian citizens.

"After 39 days of rebuffing a full-scale Russian intervention, many of us are relieved to take good news. The Russian occupiers were defeated near Kyiv. The Ukrainian defenders won the first battle for the Ukrainian capital. Kyiv region was liberated from the enemy, which is also retreating in Chernihiv and Sumy regions to regroup forces and change the direction of strikes. This is indisputable evidence that the plans of the Kremlin have been thwarted," Reznikov wrote on Facebook.

At the same time, according to the minister, hundreds of civilians were brutally tortured by Russian soldiers.

"Only in Bucha, the number of dead is already higher than in Vukovar. Shots in the back of the head of women and men with their hands tied are absolute inhumanity. These killings are not perceived as part of the war. It is even difficult to qualify them as terrorism or as a crime... This evil simply cannot remain unpunished," he added.

The minister said that Ukrainian intelligence is consistently identifying the invaders and murderers, and everyone will receive a well-deserved punishment in due time.

"Heavy fighting continues in Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions. Ukrainian troops are pushing back the invaders in Kherson region. The city of Chernihiv remains in a difficult situation. The defenders of Mariupol, who have already become legends of our time, are fighting heroically," Reznikov said.
