GTSOU develops mechanism for accounting for gas losses, destroyed infrastructure
Gas Transmission Operation of Ukraine (GTSOU) has developed a mechanism for accounting for gas losses and destroyed infrastructure due to Russian military aggression for subsequent compensation claims, GTSOU head Serhiy Makogon has said.
"We have developed a mechanism for accounting for these gas losses in order to demand compensation from the aggressor for them in the future, as well as for infrastructure damage," he told reporters on Thursday.
"We record all these facts, and in the future we will demand compensation from the aggressor," the head of the operator added.
Makogon also said that the company is not yet able to start identifying the site of damage and repair work on the main gas pipeline Kramatorsk-Donetsk-Mariupol due to constant shelling by Russian troops.
"We have to wait until either through the Red Cross, or through some other agreements, we can get the opportunity to study the damage," he said.
He added that more than 30 gas distribution stations were inoperable due to Russian shelling in a number of regions, leaving thousands of Ukrainian households without gas.
