Head of Sumy regional military administration Dmytro Zhyvytsky says the "green corridor" from Sumy has been and remains, transport for evacuation continues to be formed.

"Indeed, there was shooting at a checkpoint at the exit from Sumy on the Romenska road. It was not a battle, a shootout. There was Russian equipment, accompanied by a tank... when they saw our checkpoint, armed people, they opened chaotic fire on the field landing... Now the situation along the highway is calm, the 'green corridor' is as it was," Zhyvytsky said in a video statement on the Telegram channel.

According to him, this case confirmed that there is no absolutely safe situation with leaving the city.

There is a 'green corridor' at the moment, columns of private cars are being formed. Please pick up women, children, older people. The route of Sumy-Romny-Lokhvytsia and further to Poltava through Lubny," he said.

According to the head of the regional administration, there are buses ordered by embassies from Lokhvytsa for foreign students.

"We collected all the vehicles that are possible in Sumy, and colleagues from the Poltava region also collected about 30 vehicles and sent them to us for evacuation," Zhyvytsky said.
