Svyrydenko, Bundestag president discuss defense cooperation, Ukraine's energy resilience
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko met in Kyiv with President of the Bundestag Julia Klöckner to discuss, among other issues, strengthening cooperation in joint defense production of drones and plans to enhance the energy resilience of Ukraine's regions.
"We discussed strengthening cooperation in joint defense production of drones and interceptor systems, as well as dual-use products. We also see prospects for cooperation in military training: German instructors are already training our soldiers. At the same time, the Defense Forces have unique experience that they are ready to share with European partners to strengthen our common security," Svyrydenko said on her Telegram channel.
Svyrydenko also briefed Klöckner about plans to strengthen the energy resilience of Ukraine's regions.
"I informed the president about the Regional Energy Resilience Plans that the Ukrainian government is implementing together with regions and communities. Germany can play a leading role in this work. The assistance packages that Germany continues to provide to Ukraine are already strengthening the energy autonomy of communities and will help prepare for the upcoming heating seasons amid constant threats from Russia," the prime minister said.
She also thanked Klöckner for Germany's consistent support for Ukraine, particularly for its defense assistance.
