Ukrainian Red Cross helping victims of Russian airstrikes in Dnipro and Kharkiv
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is providing assistance to those affected by Russian airstrikes in Dnipro and Kharkiv.
“Dnipro. The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Dnipro region worked at the site of the overnight strike together with other emergency services. Volunteers conducted door-to-door visits in the damaged apartment building to check for injured residents and assess the needs of those living there,” URCS said on Facebook Tuesday.
Humanitarian assistance is currently being distributed to people whose homes were damaged as a result of the attack.
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in Kharkiv region worked at the sites where UAV strikes occurred late in the evening and overnight.
Volunteers visited damaged homes to identify people in need and provided first aid and psychological first aid.
A Ukrainian Red Cross support point is currently operating. At three locations, affected residents are receiving humanitarian assistance, including OSB boards, tarpaulins, plastic sheeting, blankets, ready-to-eat food parcels, hygiene kits and drinking water.
As reported, the Russian UAV attack shattered windows in multi-storey residential buildings and set cars on fire.
At least eight high-rise buildings in Dnipro were damaged following the Russian attack, with several hundred windows broken. According to the State Emergency Service, 10 people were injured, including a 12-year-old boy.
