Kyiv City Council to create non-profit enterprise Energy Security Service
Kyiv City Council plans to reorganize one of its municipal enterprises and approve the charter of the municipal non-profit enterprise Energy Security Service, Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced prior to the council’s next meeting.
"We are not creating a new structure from scratch or spending additional funds on it. We are creating a single, responsible operator that: creates and maintains a flexible pool of autonomous power sources; ensures their inventory, safety, and operational readiness; promptly deploys generators at sites without power; and operates in the interests of city residents, not for profit," he wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.
According to Klitschko, the effective operation of such a structure will enable a prompt response to energy threats and strengthen Kyiv’s energy resilience.
