Zelenskyy: Coming weeks will be active in working with our partners – as always, results are needed
Each of Ukraine’s partners must be aware of their strength, their ability to support Ukraine and protect life, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an evening address on Sunday, February 8.
"Air defense missiles are needed every day. Protection from Russian ballistics is needed every day. Today there were ballistics again in the Kyiv region. No country in the world should be left alone and without help in the face of such strikes and such a war. I want to thank everyone who is with Ukraine. The coming weeks will be active in working with our partners. As always, results are needed. There must be results," the president said.
He emphasized that currently the necessary logistics are being maintained everywhere.
"The Russian army has been striking the railway almost every day this week. Today there was a targeted strike in the Chernihiv region on a train that was supposed to carry people today. The day before that, there were strikes on the railway in the Kharkiv and Dnipro regions. I want to thank everyone who protects the Ukrainian railway and ensures the constant, uninterrupted operation of our Ukrzaliznytsia," the president emphasized.
In general, Zelenskyy said, Sunday was almost entirely devoted to restoration in the regions.
"The necessary forces of communities, utility services, and energy companies are involved everywhere. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine - in addition to real assistance in all regions, which is already being provided - is also forming reserve forces. These are consolidated energy groups that will be able to be quickly connected in addition to the already existing forces. Ukrzaliznytsia crews are also working, more than forty crews, and the number will be increased to sixty - they are being involved specifically for work in the capital," he said.
According to the president, the most difficult situation is currently in Kyiv by most indicators. This applies to both electricity and heating. Naftogaz will also increase the number of crews helping Kyiv.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine ensures the operation of a sufficient number of heating points today: more than two hundred such points in Kyiv, and almost nine thousand people have applied per day. The heat package program is working, and as of now, almost 40,000 packages have been issued in those areas where the need is greatest this week," Zelenskyy pointed out.
