URCS evacuates patients from mental health boarding house in Zaporizhia region
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URSC) has evacuated patients from a boarding house for people with mental disorders in Zaporizhia region.
"Due to the worsening security situation and the increasing intensity of shelling in frontline communities of Zaporizhia region, evacuation measures are underway to protect the most vulnerable categories of the population... The Ukrainian Red Cross team, in accordance with the request of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Zaporizhia Regional State Administration, ensured the evacuation of 35 residents of a boarding house for people with persistent intellectual and mental disorders," the society said on Facebook.
The Ukrainian Red Cross Emergency Response Unit in Zaporizhia region provided support for the evacuees. A vehicle with a driver was delivered for the evacuation, which allowed for the prompt and safe transportation of people. The evacuees were transported to specialized facilities in Kyiv region, where they will be provided with proper living conditions, care, and necessary medical support.
