The Ministry of Internal Affairs is increasing the number of heating points and personnel involved to support residents of cities affected by Russian shelling, in particular, in Kyiv, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko has said.

"In total, 118 heating tents of the State Emergency Service are currently operating in Kyiv at 84 locations. Given the situation, we are preparing to set up an additional 79 points. In particular, in the Dnipro and Darnytsia districts of the capital today we plan to deploy 8 tent camps. We are installing heat guns in the heating support points," Klymenko wrote in Telegram.

According to him, specialists from the energy detachment of the State Emergency Service in the capital are connecting social and critical infrastructure facilities to powerful generators.

The Minister also reported that, in addition to Kyiv, a difficult situation with heat supply has also developed in Kharkiv and Dnipro. "At this moment, we are deploying additional population support points in Kharkiv, sending special equipment and specialists from other regions there," Klymenko said.

The head of the department reported that combined units, including mountain climbers and engineering teams, are involved in eliminating the consequences of the shelling.

"Russia continues the genocidal terror of Ukrainians, using winter as a weapon. Massive shelling of critical infrastructure is a deliberate attempt to create a humanitarian catastrophe," Klymenko stated.
