Umerov and Norwegian FM discuss coordinating efforts to achieve peace
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov and Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, who is currently in Kyiv, discussed "steps to strengthen defense capabilities and coordinate efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace."
"I am pleased to welcome Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide to Kyiv. I briefed him on the situation on the frontline and the daily Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure, particularly energy facilities," Umerov wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.
According to him, the parties also "discussed concrete steps to strengthen defense capabilities and coordinate efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace."
Umerov expressed gratitude to Norway and Mr. Eide personally for their systemic financial and security support for Ukraine. "Thank you for Norway's important decision to allocate a new $400 million aid package, which will be used to strengthen the energy sector," Umerov added.
