Defense Ministry starts testing system of digitalized food supply management
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has begun validation of a special computer program for the Management of Food Service Processes, which is being tested in real conditions to prepare it for large-scale use, the ministry’s press service reported.
"For the first time, the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have developed a separate process for validating a computer program, and it will be tested according to world standards. The program is compatible with the DOT-Chain and Logistics Management systems. This is an important part of a single digital ecosystem for military logistics," said Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Oksana Ferchuk.
Head of the Logistics Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Hennadiy Bizhan added that the program, after debugging processes and scaling, should become the basis for modern, manageable and effective food supply for the army.
The program is a tool that automates work with food supply in military units. In particular, the program allows keeping track of food products in units, form supply requests, create menus, and automatically create reports on the use of food, the ministry said.
