Instead of a Christmas truce or progress on the path to peace, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine on the morning of Tuesday, December 23, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said.

"A senior woman was killed in the Kyiv region and a 4-years-old child was killed in the Zhytomyr region. One person is reported killed in the Khmelnytskyi region. More people were injured in at least nine regions across the country. Energy system and critical civilian infrastructure have been the primary targets. Moscow does not hide its genocidal intent, preparing strikes at energy infrastructure deliberately when the temperature drops," Sybiha wrote on X.

"As the world prepares for Christmas holidays, Ukraine is defending itself, its freedom, and its people, as well as peace and stability across the transatlantic, from Russian barbarism and aggression. Russia must be forced into peace through collective transatlantic strength. This can be achieved through increasing the cost of continuing this war for the aggressor," the minister concluded.
