President of European Council on Yarova attack: Is this what Russia means when it talks about peace?
European Council President António Costa condemned the Russian attack on the village of Yarova in Donetsk region on Tuesday afternoon.
“Is this what Russia means when it talks about peace? When will Russia stop killing people ? When will President Putin accept to start peace talks already accepted by President Zelenskyy?” Costa said on X.
EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos has said Russia's escalation of strikes proves that Moscow wants war, not peace.
“While we discussed Ukraine’s European future in the EP, Russia continues taking civilian lives. Today, over 20 people were killed while queuing for pensions,” she said on X.
Kos also stressed that “Ukraine’s course is set: EU accession, freedom, Europe.”
As reported, as a result of the strike on Yarova on Tuesday, September 9, there are 23 known dead and more than 20 wounded.
