Czech Republic to allocate over EUR40 mln annually for Ukraine's recovery in 2026–2030
The Czech government on Wednesday approved annual allocations of one billion crowns (around EUR 40 million) for Ukraine's recovery program between 2026 and 2030, Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský said after a cabinet meeting, according to Novinky.
"The program has been in effect since 2023, and the Czech Republic intends to continue using it to support the recovery of a country that has been resisting Russian aggression since 2022. According to Lipavský, the program also allows the Czech Republic to receive support from the European Union. In March, the EU approved two projects for the Czech Republic totaling four billion crowns (about EUR 160 million)," the report said.
Funding will be channeled through the National Development Bank and will also support humanitarian and reconstruction projects. The minister described the initiative as "a flagship of the Czech Republic's strong international reputation."
Since 2023, the annual allocation had been 500 million crowns (around EUR 20 million).
Lipavský also reminded that Sunday will mark six months since Ukraine accepted the U.S. peace plan, while Russia has shown no interest in ending the conflict.
