Ukraine can count on strong steps from USA if Russia does not agree to ceasefire – Zelenskyy
The United States will tighten sanctions on the Russian Federation, and will also strengthen Ukraine if the Russian side refuses a 30-day ceasefire, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations in Jeddah.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday in Kyiv, when asked what the U.S. would do if the Russian Federation did not agree to a truce, Zelenskyy replied: "Strong steps towards the Russian side. As I understand it, we can count on strong steps. I don't know, I don't know the details yet, but we are talking about sanctions accordingly, and strengthening Ukraine."
When asked what the chances are that the Russian Federation will still agree to the 30-day ceasefire proposed by the Ukrainian side, Zelenskyy replied: "What are the chances? We will see."
