Ukrainian Red Cross Society distributes over 21,000 food kits in Kherson during Feb
Volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) in Kherson distributed over 21,000 food kits to vulnerable groups of the population during February.
“Over 21,600 food kits were distributed by volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in Kherson during February 2025. Humanitarian aid is provided by the World Food Programme (WFP) and is aimed at supporting elderly people aged 60 and over and people with disabilities who stay in the city despite constant threats and active hostilities,” the URCS reported on Facebook on Monday.
The food kits contain long-term storage products and help provide a significant part of the monthly diet. But for Kherson residents, each food distribution is not only about food, but also about a sense of care and confidence in the future.
Volunteers daily receive, distribute, deliver and give out kits to elderly citizens and people with disabilities, risking their own lives due to constant shelling by the Russian army.
