Poroshenko: Trump's return to the White House is a window of opportunity, we must find a way to work together

Petro Poroshenko, the leader of European Solidarity and Ukraine's fifth president (2014-2019), believes that Donald Trump's return to the White House presents a narrow window of opportunity, and it is imperative to find a way to collaborate.
"Based on my three years of experience working with Trump, I can assure you that his return to the White House represents a narrow window of opportunity, but we must find a way to work together," he wrote on X in the early hours of Monday.
Poroshenko emphasized that Trump's return is not only a challenge but also a chance. "We must remember that Trump is different from President Biden. Biden is a president of values, while Trump is a president of 'price,'" the politician said.
According to Poroshenko, Trump was the first U.S. president to provide a military aid package that included lethal weapons to Ukraine. He also introduced sanctions against Nord Stream without consulting European partners, delaying its launch by several years. Additionally, Trump directed the U.S. Secretary of State to support the recognition of Ukraine's independent Orthodox Church.
"President Trump is practical, decisive, and concrete. This is a highly responsible time, and perfect coordination with all our Western partners is essential. If Putin wins in Ukraine, it would spell disaster for global security," Poroshenko stressed.
