Zelenskyy, Tusk discuss weapons supply and production

During his visit to Warsaw on Wednesday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk the supply and production of weapons and equipment.

"Today, we discussed with the Prime Minister our defense, weapons supply as well as the production of weapons. We had a long and detailed discussion on the issue. We have significant capacities for the production of all types of drones, many types of equipment that are necessary on the battle field now. Also, artillery, not only our people can strengthen this all," he said at a joint press conference with Tusk.

The sides also discussed relevant investment. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of ramping up Ukraine's domestic production to ensure technological reinforcement of its forces.

They also talked about the opportunities for bringing peace in Ukraine and entire Europe closer.

"The inauguration of President-elect [Donald] Trump will take place in the United States in five days. We are anticipating active joint work in the spirit of the peace through strength concept," Zelenskyy said.

He recalled that the EU is preparing its 16th package of sanctions against Ukraine and the work on EU accession negotiations with Ukraine is underway.

"We must be as effective as possible now in opening the negotiation clusters and have coordinated positions. We are able to open at least a few clusters," Zelenskyy said.

He thanked Tusk for the proposal to hold the next Ukraine Recovery Conference in Poland in 2026.

"Ukraine accepts this proposal and it is very important that Poland will be one of the key partners in the restoration of Ukraine," the President of Ukraine said.
