Govt proposes to Verkhovna Rada to regulate creation of 'eco-industrial parks' in Ukraine - Shmyhal
The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to regulate the creation of "eco-industrial parks" in Ukraine, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
"The Cabinet of Ministers is submitting to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the introduction of the concept of "eco-industrial parks." This will be an innovative format of industrial sites, where businesses will use alternative energy sources, will rationally approach waste management and optimize the use of water resources," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
According to him, the state, for its part, will provide support in the form of tax breaks and the construction of engineering and transport infrastructure.
Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk said on Telegram the bill proposes to amend the law on industrial parks in terms of clarifying the requirements for documents, procedures, rights and obligations, as well as the relations of industrial park entities in the process of creating and operating industrial parks.
The list of types of economic activities that can be carried out on the territory of an industrial park, as well as the implementation of which is prohibited in an industrial park, is also clarified.
In addition, the definitions of the concepts of "eco-industrial park" and "industrial symbiosis within an industrial park" are given and a list of grounds for the authorized body to decide to deprive an industrial park of the status of an eco-industrial park is determined.
It is assumed that the choice of territory for an eco-industrial park is carried out taking into account the priority of environmental safety, preservation and development of nature conservation areas and objects.
