Today, Ukrainians celebrate the third Christmas during the war, unfortunately, not everyone can celebrate it to the fullest, but despite all the troubles that the enemy brought, it failed to destroy the main thing – the light inside Ukrainians, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

"Today is a very special evening. Christmas Eve. And this is our third Christmas during the war. Our large Ukrainian family cannot celebrate it to the fullest – the way we would like, the way it should be. Not all of us are at home. Not all of us, unfortunately, have a home. And not all of us, unfortunately, are with us. However, despite all the troubles that the enemy brought, he failed to capture or destroy the main thing – our hearts, the light within us, faith in goodness and mercy, the person inside each of us," Zelenskyy said in his Christmas greetings.

The president said Ukrainians have not lost their values and called for honoring the memory of all who gave their lives defending us. Ukraine also prays for everyone at the front, so that they return alive, as well as for all those in captivity, so that they return home.

"For everyone whom Russia drove into occupation. Everyone who was forced to leave. Everyone who is having a hard time, but they did not lose Ukraine in themselves, which means that Ukraine will never lose them. And therefore, wherever we are today, we are together," the head of state said.

In addition, he said Ukrainians are celebrating Christmas on the same date for the second time "as one big family, a single country."

"For the second time in modern history, Christmas unites all Ukrainians. We are side by side today. And we will not get lost. In person or in our thoughts, we will congratulate each other, call our parents, kiss our children, hug our loved ones, remember our own. In person, at a distance, or in our souls, Ukrainians are together today. And while we do this, evil has no chance," the president said.

According to him, the unity of Ukrainians and the warmth we feel towards each other is the true spirit of Christmas and its unique atmosphere, "which we will keep inside ourselves no matter what and share with those who are close to us. With everyone we love. With everyone who is dear to us."

The head of the Ukrainian state congratulated everyone on the Nativity of Christ and wished that the light of faith reigned in the souls of Ukrainians, the light of hope filled their hearts, and love and prosperity filled every home.

"May the Lord protect you, your families, our Ukraine. May all the evil that came to our home disappear with his help. And may there be goodness and justice in its place. May there be peace and prosperity. And so that every child is healthy," Zelenskyy said.
