Today, Ukrainians are fighting for the main symbol of Christmas – for hope and victory of life, all we need is to live peacefully on our land and see our sky, and in it the Christmas star, and not Iranian "Shaheds" and Russian missiles, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

"The great Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych lived and worked for several years in the city that is now called Pokrovsk. He taught music to children there, created a choir and it was there that he wrote the second edition of 'Schedryk,' which these days sounds in every corner of the Earth. Thus, the Ukrainian gave the world the musical spirit of Christmas. And let every person in the world, hearing it, remember Ukraine. How today we fight for the main symbol of this holiday – for hope and the victory of life," Zelenskyy said in his Christmas greetings.

"On our land, in every city, in every town, including Pokrovsk, the divine music written there and the evil that Russia brought there clearly shows the difference between us and them," the president said.

According to him, Ukrainians strive to create, and "for some, the meaning of life is to sow death." "We want peace, justice, we want peace. And they, as some say, are 'bored and lack movement," Zelenskyy said.

"All we need is to live peacefully on our land, to see the sun, our sky, and in it – the Christmas star, and not Iranian 'Shaheds' and Russian missiles. But some are 'bored and lack movement.' These words are proof of how far they are from God, from Christianity, from real faith. And this is proof of why their bondage and darkness are losing. We know this. The world knows this. And God knows this," the head of state said.

He said evil is losing and Ukrainians deserve for all this trouble and all this dirt to disappear from our land forever.
