Zelenskyy: Ukraine didn’t sign anything, no ‘Istanbul agreements’ exist

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy declares that there were no "Istanbul agreements" and Ukraine did not sign anything.
"I am surprised by his [Putin's] statements that he is ready for something, since he always says that I am illegitimate. As for the ‘Istanbul agreements’, which never existed, there was an ultimatum from the Russian Federation on the first day of the occupation of our country in 2022. Their messengers in different directions, using different sources, showed us the details of this ultimatum. These messengers are no longer there, they have fled to Russia or abroad. In any case, Ukraine did not agree to the ultimatum of the Russian Federation," Zelenskyy said at a press conference in Brussels on Thursday.
Zelenskyy noted that Russia was trying to take the next steps, in particular, to soften its positions.
"These were meetings in Belarus and Turkey. They called all these meetings the ‘Istanbul agreements.’ Ukraine did not sign anything, there were no agreements. There was a response to Russia's ultimatum," the president concluded.
Earlier on Thursday, during a direct line, Putin said that he was allegedly ready to negotiate peace with Ukraine on the basis of the 2022 agreements in Istanbul and taking into account the situation at the front.
