Kallas: Any push for negotiations too soon will be a bad deal for Ukraine

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas has said that premature negotiations between Ukraine and Russia will not bring Kyiv good results. At the same time, the EU should do more to support Ukraine, she said.
"Any push for negotiations too soon will actually be a bad deal for Ukraine," Kallas told a press briefing ahead of a meeting of the European Council in Brussels on Thursday.
She noted that "all the other actors in the world are carefully watching how we act in this case."
"Therefore, we really need to be strong. Syria shows us that Russia is not invincible and we should not underestimate our own power," the High Representative said.
She also said that the EU leaders will discuss how to support Ukraine more during the meeting.
