Ukraine, on its way to NATO membership, is reaching a level of relations with the alliance that will naturally grow into increased coordination of the transfer of military aid, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has said, commenting on the information about the transfer of leadership in the Ramstein format to the alliance.

At a joint press conference with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong in Kyiv, Sybiha pointed out that the Ramstein format was created after the first months following the start of the full-scale Russian invasion to clearly prioritize and ensure continuity of arms deliveries to Ukraine from allies.

"The format proved to be extremely effective and it allowed for clear planning and allowed for proper coordination among allies on the content of our defense capability. Of course, with NATO, we are now reaching a level of relationship on the way to NATO membership that will naturally grow into increased coordination as well," he said.

According to the minister, "therefore, these are inherent processes related to the further advancement of Ukraine on the way to NATO membership, to the implementation of our Euro-Atlantic aspirations."

Earlier, Reuters, citing sources, reported that NATO had taken over the coordination of Western military aid to Ukraine, which was previously carried out by the United States, a move aimed at protecting the support mechanism from Donald Trump.
