The death toll due to a missile strike by the Russian army on the center of Zaporizhia has increased to six people, 22 people were injured, some people are still under the rubble, said head of Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov on Wednesday morning.

"There are already six dead and 22 wounded — the number of victims has increased as a result of an enemy strike on Voznesensk district of Zaporizhia. At night, rescuers of the State Emergency Service took two women out from under the rubble - they are in the hospital. There are four more people in the ruins of a building destroyed by a Russian missile," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Earlier, Fedorov reported four dead and 20 injured as a result of a Russian missile strike on the city center. A 5-year–old girl is among the injured.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, as a result of the hit, the building of a private clinic and a nearby cafe were destroyed.

The blast wave and debris damaged multi-storey residential buildings, cars of local residents. The rescue operation continues.
